I am a huge RPG gamer and a series that I played extensively in the past is the PC Witcher game series. The final chapter, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is scheduled to come out on PC and next gen consoles on February 24, 2015. The Witcher tells the tell of a Witcher named Geralt, a witcher or an individual that has very special abilties to confront all manner of evil and defeat it. In this game Gerald is a monster hunter who must face a deadly evil known as the Great Hunt which threatens to destroy the human race. Gerald must face his most deadly of foes and vanquish it from the world. Any one else getting this game? It is going to be one awesome RPG with massive amount of gameplay, a huge world to travel and explore, amazing cutscenes, diverse gameplay and a game that has its own culture, history, characters, unique creatures to defeat and so much more. I will be sure to continue to update this section with new information, videos, reports and more as the game will be out in less than half a year now.
To be clear I played the first Witcher game long ago and enjoyed every minute of it and I had hoped to enjoy Witcher 2 which is a great game but something about the gameplay mechanics and horrible combat system did not do it for me. Witcher 2 also had sections or zones that you would play in unlike Witcher 3 which will be a full on open world exploration system not zoned in section by section gameplay. Witcher 3 promises to return back to what I loved about the first Witcher. Look at the Witcher 3 gameplay video below, Geralt on horseback, visiting a busy town filled with villagers. There is going to be an open world concept of travel where you can travel from region to region instead of in small sections like some games have or the past game. I also did not like the quick time events of the Witcher 2 where you had to press certain keys in order to unleash an attack. I got frustrated with this concept so I did not finish the Witcher 2. You also now have mounts and can also sail on a boat. These are the types of gameplay elements that I love in my RPG games as well as fixing many things I hated about the Witcher 3 which makes it the RPG to get next year!
What makes this the RPG of 2015?!
-100 hours, yes you read that right, of RPG gaming, 50 hours for the main storyline and about 50 for the side quests. Remember when I said this is a massive RPG, well it is!
-Beautiful and amazing state of the art graphics
-A game with so many diverse quests and systems
-Gone are the quick time events of the past games where you must press a certain order of buttons to unleash an attack.
-There are 36 different endings that you can achieve in this game
-Decisions that you make in the game will have substantial effect in the game world as to what quests you are given and locations that you go to.
-This game has an open world concept of exploration and travel and not limited like the last game which had zoned in environments that you would play in.
-Now you can use mounts to travel a vast open world or sail the ocean on a boat to access areas not possible on horseback. Don't want to use your boat, you can now swim as well!
-Vastly improved combat system from the last game.
-The world of the Witcher 3 is 35 times bigger than the Witcher 2. Wow! Impressive!
-The final Witcher game in the trilogy promises to outdo the previous two Witcher games and provide a unique and compelling RPG experience.
I am huge fan of collectors edition, but I don't do it for all games. Look at the one I preordered for $149.99 and is currently sold out in most places!
The Collectors Edition comes with the following:
-Comes with a great statue of Geralt battling a Griffin- Cool
-The game in a steel book case
-A game map
-A Witcher medallion, that in the game is used to sense evil
-A beautiful artbook. This company has produced some awesome artbooks in the past Witcher games!
-Soundtrack of the games awesome music and more!
