The Wormworld started out online only and still continues as six chapters are currently available at the Wormworld website. My question is digital vs print. Which is better? From my perspective I will always love a printed book over a digital version. There is just something special about holding a book in your hand and paging through it. A printed book is more personal and connects with the reader more than a digital version ever can. I do believe a digital version has its benefits as in this case it helps to give Wormworld exposure so that a printed version can happen. As we know with the 44,000 raised readers definitely want the printed version. Digital is also great in the case of the Attic, the paid online subscription version of Wormworld, that allows you to have many behind the scene articles, art only chapters, preliminary art versions with directors commentary. These kinds of things would probably not be possible in print or too expensive to produce all the sketchbooks, behind the scenes articles. In these cases, digital works very well but ultimately I feel print will always be the best way to enjoy an amazing story like Wormworld.
As a collector of special editions, print gets us special deluxe editions of a book like the deluxe version of Wormworld Volume 1 that has a red cloth version with gold embossing which will be limited, numbered and signed.
What do you all think?

Always a physical copy! Digital copies can't be signed or sketched, unfortunately it's not collector's friendly.

A physical copy will always be my preferred choice. I did not think about the fact that you can't sign or sketch a digital copy. Very good points and as collector of great books, I like sketched copies, with signatures and dedications from the creators in them, all things not possible in a digital version.

I also love seeing an awesome book that I bought on the shelves and just paging through it and admiring the artwork and story. Digital copies of items seems too cold for me, to distant from what a physical copy of a book is. I love technology so much and how we can do so many things but in regards to replacing books it has not even gotten close and I do not think it ever will. I love good books and just sitting with a comic, a graphic novel whether paperback or hardcover and then there are the deluxe or special editions of books like Wormworld deluxe and I am just loving every minute. Like you, we are great book lovers!!

I am glad we think alike in that we are traditional and love our printed books, especially the hardcover super deluxe editions, with author signature and dedications especially when they are super limited!

Sketches!!! Gotta love them. Sketches, especially well drawn ones, are especially cool in our deluxe edition hardcovers that we buy! Daniel made one for me but in a separated piece of paper, still gorgeous. I keep inside my German edition. Lovely.
