One of the many options that was part of the Wormworld Volume 1 Kickstarter was 3 different and beautiful prints that was part of many different tiers that you could pledge to.
The first one shown below called The Journey Begins I believe was a concept painting that Daniel made before starting the series and was an inspiration for creating the entire series and is symbolic of Jonas finding in the attic the mystical entrance to the Wormworld. This painting hangs on a wall nearby where Daniel does the creation of the Wormworld chapters alongside the trusted sword replica. This print is so symbolic of what Jonas finds hidden in the attic and the moment that Jonas decides to venture into a new and unexplored world that is full of mystery, creatures and of a destiny Jonas does not yet know about. Jonas has so many problems going on in his life at this point that the thought of going somewhere else from where he is now is very interesting and preferred and being adventurous himself is ready to take on the challenge of a new world. This print is so important and symbolic to the entire Wormworld Saga that it is the reason I use it as the main logo for this fan forum.
The second one Welcome to the Wormworld was drawn to highlight the importance of Jonas entering the Wormworld and of the eventual destiny that Jonas would find in this world. I love this print because it symbolizes Jonas going away from the struggles of his life back at home, a father that wants to send him to boarding school, a mother he does not have but now he enters an entirely new and mystical world full of purpose, promise and destiny. Beautiful colors, grandness and just shows how small Jonas is compared to the vast expanse of the Wormworld that lies before him waiting to be explored.
The last print shown below Trapped I believe was drawn as an imaginary adventure that Jonas takes out in the country where his grandma lives. This print highlights the adventurous spirit that Jonas has and of the use of his trusted sword. Little does Jonas knows that what now may be imaginary adventures will soon turn very real as he finds the mystical entrance to the Wormworld in the attic of his grandma's house. The print uses such great colors to depict Jonas's imaginary fight with what I believe are troll like cretures out in the forest near his grandma's house.
What I find so interesting about these prints is the very detailed art, the bright colors used and an excellent painterly look to it all that intrigues me very much. I love bright colors, very detailed art and the paint style similar to what is used in the chapters is what I am most fascinated with.
Did anyone buy any of these three prints in the recent Kickstarter, in the past and what do you think about each print?
