-Great Cover art by Jeff Shultz shows Archie and all four of the dates Archie has planned, but unfortuantely for Archie he has planned them all on the same night. Poor Archie!
-The review below has spoilers in case you have not read this.
Story: Archie in Be-Four & After
-This issue is well drawn by Jeff Shultz, another one of my favorite artists of the current era and I do appreciate how he draws the Archie characters and their expressions.
-The issue starts with Archie feeling very happy that it is a very good day but by the end of the issue Archie may regret ever feeling that way!
-This is indeed a funny story about what happens when Archie plans four dates on the same night. In this issue he plans a date with Betty, Veronica, Cheryl and Valerie.
-The fun begins when Reggie offers to pay any expenses for the night as long as Archie can manage to not cancel any of the four dates. If he fails Archie must wear a Reggie is #1 shirt for a month!
-Well you know things don't go well when Archie tries to manage being on 4 separate dates at the Josie and the Pussycats concert that he is taking his dates to. This is Archie afterall and is not very good in remembering who he had planned to have dates with on the same night.
-Archie is helped on this funny and zany adventure by Jughead who is promised free burgers, fries and a shake for an entire month if he helps Archie succeed in this. Dilton also helps Archie on this adventure but things do not go as planned.
-It is funny just to see the mess that Archie gets himself into once again when he thinks that he can pull off being with more than one date or that he probably deserves what he gets because of not knowing what dates he had planned that day.
-At the end the girls get their revenge on Reggie for encouraging Archie to go on all four dates and everyone enjoys the Josie and the Pussycats concert. While Betty may be forgiving of Archie, Veronica is not and promises to give Archie what he deserves when the concert is over for doing this to her! Go Veronica!
-While I like stories dealing with Archie and the mess he gets in with dates he plans on the same night, the story feels a bit like many others that we have read in the past so it does not stand out from others in originality so its not the stellar story it could have been.
Overall Rating-Good: (3 out of 5 stars)
