As I write this the Kickstarter is about half way to $40,000 and about 960 backers. It may end up somewhere in the 40,000+ range. I do not even dare guess where it will end with the fire and speed that this is going at. I can only sit back and watch the pledges go higher and higher. It feels like only yesterday when Daniel was trying to come up with higher tier packages to see if people would pledge to them since the higher tier packages of $500 were not being pleded to as much as the lower tier ones and now he has far exceeded his initial goal of $12,000 many times over.
As I sit here I wonder what the factors for this increase in backers and pledges is. Could it be the backers seeing all the freebies coming with the book, or seeing all the backers that have pledged and wondering that there is something great here, or just taking a chance. At one point Daniel was not sure if we would reach $36,000 but we have shattered that goal and are quickly approaching $40,000. I think it is the backers seeing all the updates, the freebies, loving the art and story of the Wormworld and its rich history. There are so many factors that have probably contributed to this. What do you all think are the factors that have led to potentially over 1,000 backers and over $40,000 in pledges.
