There was some new info from New York Comic Con regarding the New Dark Circle Comics that are coming next year: The Shield, The Fox and The Black Hood.
Here is new art by Franceso Francavilla(artist for Afterlife with Archie) promoting all three titles!
What Afterlife and Sabrina have helped to do!
-Afterlife with Archie and Sabrina are two current Archie comics whose success is helping pave the way for this darker and more mature line of Dark Circle comics that are coming next year in 2015.
On the Fox
-If you loved the Fox miniseries that ended earlier this year then the next arc will be coming next year where super villains want to kill the main character Paul who does not want to be a Superhero and get him out of the way.
-Harvey award winning artist Jose Villarubia will join Dean Haspiel and Mark Waid on Fox Hunt, the continuation story that continues from The Fox-Freak Magnet, the mini series that Archie released and that ended earlier this year.
On the Shield
-The Shield will take place during the Vietnam era and artist David Williams will join the creative team of Chuck Wendig and Adam Christopher for the Shield.
-The main character of the Shield will be played by a woman.
On The Black Hood
-Is a noir type of comic and is written by Duane Swierczynski with artwork by Michael Gaydos and features The Black Hood as an urban Vigilante.
On the Dark Circle line
-All three titles will have dark elements, be in a shared universe and should be ongoing titles and not just mini series.
-Alex Seguara will be the main comics editor for all three titles.
-There is no specific release date beyond 2015 for these titles right now.
My thoughts on all three titles
-This should prove interesting and with great writing and stellar art should propel Archie forward and hopefully will give Archie much success like they have had with Afterlife with Archie and what looks like success with Sabrina with the first issue being released last week.
-Although I do have worries if they can keep the release schedule going at an acceptable pace with these three ongoing titles that are part of the Dark Circle line along with the rest of the Archie titles that it has going on such as Sabrina and Afterlife with Archie.
-If they can maintain a great release schedule without many delays, promote the titles heavily and manage these three titles very well, I expect the Dark Circle line to be very successful and hopefully not repeat any of the problems that accompanied the previous Red Circle line with titles such as the New Crusaders.
-They seem to have an awesome group of artists and writers and if they can balance everything together we should be getting some awesome titles coming next year in 2015.
